the close-ups.

As requested, here are the close-ups of our invitations.

I embossed the pocketfold using our flourish stamp from Paper Source, teal ink, and clear embossing powder. The belly bands were made using Ruby Stardream metallic cardstock.
The invitations were made with white linen cardstock backed with Ruby Stardream metallic cardstock. A matching purple double-faced satin ribbon was tied in a knot and attached to each one. I took the flourish pattern from the stamp and made a vector drawing of it to print it on all of the invitation pieces. I thought about stamping and embossing each one, but ultimately decided that I value my sanity too much to do that. I quickly nixed that idea.

You can see the linen texture of the paper in this picture. We used the same linen cardstock for the RSVP postcards. We've been receiving a ton of them in the mail, so they were definitely able to get through the machines at the post office (with rounded corners and all) but they are a little dirty and a little rough around the edges. In hindsight, a thicker cardstock probably would've worked better for this purpose.Everyone also received a card with the details of the reception and our wedding website.
To save paper and our efforts, only our out of town guests received the hotel and map cards.
The back of the map card had directions on how to get to the church, reception, and back to the hotels. Our envelopes were an A7.5 outer envelope size, in natural white with linen texture. I contemplated returning them when they arrived an were a little more ivory than I'd like them to be, but ultimately let go of my inner OCD and used them anyway. A family friend calligraphed all of our envelopes, and I was so grateful for her efforts. She did a wonderful job and it was one less thing that I had to worry about. To give her a break (as she was doing the calligraphy for free) we asked her to write our return address on a sheet of paper, and I shrunk it down in Illustrator and printed it out on the backs of all the envelopes. You cannot even notice the difference up close!
The envelopes were lined using moss colored wrapping paper from Paper Source that featured the same flourish pattern we used throughout the invitation suite. Finding a liner that matched the other elements was one of my main objectives, and the fact that the paper and stamps matched was the primary reason for me selecting this flourish pattern.
Just in case you forgot, here is the entire invitation suite.
Up next, the cost breakdown!
