a small town wedding: cheers.

While everyone was enjoying their dinner, my father-in-law started the toasts.
Of course he had some nice things to say about his son.
Then it was my dad's turn.

He made almost everyone in the place cry!  Happy tears of course.

Next it was matron of honor's turn.
She told everyone how she'd enjoyed all of our DIY projects I had blogged about, and how most of the pictures in the tutorials showed my husband doing the work!

My sister welcomed Adam to the family with a little gift.

Adam's best man talked about some of our college experiences.

My husband and I thanked everyone for coming.
And he thanked me for waiting for him to propose for so long!

Next, we cut the cake!

toasting flutes.

My future mother-in-law as been asking for awhile now if we could pick out some toasting flutes for the wedding. This is one of those things for the wedding that I think only the people directly involved (aka the bride, groom, and whoever buys them) actually notices. But I also think that it's one of those items that should be displayed in the dining room after the wedding, so I wanted to make sure we really liked them.

On our wedding day, Adam and I will be toasting with our very own Vera Wang "Grosgrain" champagne flutes (shown in the middle). Are they cute?
I like them so much, I'm thinking we may very well register for the rest of the china set that goes with them!
